This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.
How it works
- Drop one or more photos. Full-length portraits, product shots and vertical landscapes work best in 4:5.
- Fill and crop is preselected: the photo is scaled until it covers the 1080×1350 frame, then the excess is trimmed equally from both sides (or from the top and bottom).
- Press Resize for Instagram. Each output is exactly 1080 by 1350 pixels and is named with the size, e.g. photo-1080x1350.jpg.
- Download and post. Because the ratio already matches, Instagram's crop screen will not ask you to trim anything.
Frequently asked questions
- Why 1080 × 1350?
- 4:5 is the tallest aspect ratio Instagram allows in the feed. At 1080 pixels wide that is 1350 pixels tall, and it occupies about 30% more screen than a square, which is why photographers and shops prefer it. Anything wider than 1080 is downscaled by Instagram anyway.
- Which part gets cropped?
- The frame is taller than most photos, so a landscape photo loses a lot of its left and right edges, while a typical 3:4 phone portrait loses only a thin strip at the top and bottom. Cropping is centred; if the subject is off-centre, use Crop image first.
- Can I keep the whole photo?
- Choose Fit inside: the image is scaled to fit within 1080×1350 without cropping and the remaining space is filled with white (or left transparent for PNG), so the file is still exactly 1080×1350.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. Resizing runs in your browser and nothing is sent to Nouplo. The free plan allows 3 files per run, 20 MB per file and 10 runs per day; Pro removes those limits.
- JPG or PNG?
- JPG for photos, which is what Instagram stores anyway. PNG keeps text sharper for announcement graphics and carousel slides with diagrams.
