This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.
How it works
- Drop a landscape photo. Covers are very wide, so portraits lose most of their height.
- Fill and crop is preselected: the photo is scaled to cover 820×312 and trimmed at the top and bottom around the centre.
- Press Resize for Facebook. The output is exactly 820 by 312 pixels, the size Facebook shows on desktop.
- Upload it as your cover. Keep faces and text within the central 640 pixels so they survive the phone crop.
Frequently asked questions
- Why 820 × 312?
- Facebook displays profile and Page covers at 820×312 pixels on desktop. Uploading exactly that size avoids Facebook's rescaling and the blur it brings. Facebook itself suggests at least 400×150 and says an sRGB JPG under 100 KB loads fastest.
- What happens on phones?
- On mobile the cover is shown at 640×360, which is taller and narrower: the left and right edges are cut off and a little more of the top and bottom is shown. Anything within the centre 640 pixels of width is safe on both.
- Should I upload a larger file for retina screens?
- You can double it to 1640×624 on the main Resize image tool. Facebook downscales it, but the result is sharper on high-density displays; the trade-off is somewhat stronger compression.
- JPG or PNG?
- JPG for photos. If the cover contains a logo or text, PNG keeps the edges sharper; Facebook still converts it, but the source is cleaner.
- Is the photo uploaded to Nouplo?
- No. The resize happens in your browser. The free plan allows 3 files per run, 20 MB per file and 10 runs per day; Pro removes those limits.
