This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.
How it works
- Drop images onto the box or pick them from your device. HEIC, HEIF, WebP, AVIF, SVG, PNG, JPG, GIF and BMP are accepted, and you can mix formats in one run.
- Choose the target format. JPG for photos and maximum compatibility, PNG to keep transparency, WebP or AVIF for the smallest files on the web.
- Adjust the quality slider for JPG, WebP and AVIF. 0.9 is near-lossless; 0.75 is a good balance for web use. PNG ignores the slider.
- Press Convert images and download the files individually or as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. Decoding and encoding happen in a Web Worker in your browser. The files stay on your device, and the tool works with the network off.
- How are HEIC files from an iPhone handled?
- Browsers cannot decode HEIC natively, so a small WebAssembly decoder is loaded the first time you convert one. After that, conversion is fully local and works offline.
- Why is AVIF greyed out or failing in my browser?
- AVIF encoding relies on the browser's own encoder, which is only available in Chrome-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Brave. Reading AVIF works in Chrome, Firefox and Safari 16 or later.
- What happens to transparency?
- PNG, WebP and AVIF keep transparent areas. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are filled with white.
- What are the free limits?
- The free plan allows 3 files per run, 20 MB per file and 10 runs per day. Pro removes these limits.
